We finally got her out of the airport at 9pm, 3 hours later than planned! I got to the airport at about ten to six, but then an enormous thunderstorm came in so I sat at a petrol station just outside the airport watching her flight arrival. She then phoned saying they had landed in Austin! In the meantime, I was sitting in the middle of a massive thunderstorm. Fortunately, they just refueled and took off again. After 40 minutes the first storm cleared so I texted Di to say it was all fine, however in 10 minutes the skies started to darken again and the radar picture showed another storm coming in!
Well, they landed in the middle of the second storm, which was great for me, but bad for those landing.
Houston George Bush International Airport is amazing for driving, as it is so well sign posted and so very easy to get to the right terminal. The only downside was the first time I came through the pick up zone, Di's luggage hadn't come out so I got moved on to do another loop. The loop is only five minutes and the second time I lingered long enough so as Di came running out of the terminal building, and I got her!
This evening we went for a sneaky Mexican at La Hacienda just near mine, and had superb Margarita's (tequila, limes and triple sec) !
Tomorrow we will do a bit of gym, followed by sitting by the pool and BBQ'ing :)
