Cinco de Mayo

I am now a little closer at having slightly more than $25 bucks to my name as I received my first pay cheque, or rather 'check', today. I never made it to the OTC (big conference) liked I planned as I seemed to be doing things in order for the mortgage. I have to prove everything thinkable about myself, which is always challenging when most of my life in a container in the mid Atlantic! Anyhow, I think I have got all the bases covered so the bank can't complain!

Straight after work I went in search of the driving range. Apart from missing the turning, I found it. Basically a large open field with some loosely marked tee areas and a couple of distance markers. For $6 I got about a 50 ball basket (you get the basket and then fill it yourself from plastic bins full of balls). It is better value to get the larger buckets , but I find I get board after the first 50 balls. I took a photo down the shaft of my club can you notice what is wrong? I went and picked up the wrong glove from my golf bag this morning. For some reason when I bought my gloves they gave me a left and a right! Apart from that, and the blistering heat, I managed some very good shots, and of course some dismal ones too. The first few shot off along the ground, and all I could hear was Dad going 'keep your head down'! I now have, another, loyalty card to get a bucket of fee balls after 10 times! It was busy, but, bar a few women that seemed to be watching their husbands, I was the only women!? By the time I got back to the car I was seriously hot - I was in my work trousers which did not help.

I was invited out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with one of Laura's friends, so I met them at a Mexican restaurant. It was good, but took a while to liven up. There was a little band to keep the punters happy! I had an appetiser as my meal and it was easily the size of a main course and one small margarita. We chatted, but left in good time as everyone has work tomorrow. On leaving, I found I had managed to park in about the only strip joint in Houston - typically me!
