I have now got an American mobile, or rather cell phone, so now I can start thinking about turning off my UK phone. I had another call from Vodafone selling me things - go away I don't want to talk to you! I also heard from my removals company that the containers left the UK on 1st May (quite sometime after packing it), and is due to reach port by 19th May. Unfortunately, it then has to clear customs and that can take between 3-10 days, assuming all goes well. I am due to move out of the apartment on 19th May and can not feasibly move into the house. So one of the girls who has an apartment near the Galleria shopping centre, is on holiday for 3 weeks and has said I can stay at hers, which is great. The company would put me up in a hotel, but since we are looking for ways to save $1 billion Malene and me can help this way.
I think it was hottest it has been since my arrival. The car said 94F (~34degC). It was not humid just really hot. I went to hit some golf balls, badly, and felt sick quite quickly. I hope it not like that on Monday, otherwise 18 holes will be a struggle.
I feel slightly guilty for not going swimming tonight but I think the heat zapped me. I came back to the apartment and went to sit by the pool in the fading sun. The temperature dropped off quite quickly as the sun went down (I mean it probably went from 34 to 30 degC!
Today I didn't managed any great photos, but then I remembered Mariska wanted a tour of my apartment. Because I am not on wireless I could do it the video tour. So I have tried to take a couple of pictures showing the open plan kitchen, dining room and living room, my bedroom with the little desk I skype from in the corner, and the walk in closet.
Tomorrow I off for a picnic and will tell you all about in the next blog. Off to bed early tonight so I can get some swimming done before speaking to Sam.
