I'm Back

The blogger is back! I have a fair amount to update you on, including wedding and new house, but unfortunately, I wont be managing it tonight. KLM left my baggage in Amsterdam - again! So my laptop charger, camera cord etc are all in there!

Apart from discovering my luggage was not turning up, the flight was very simple and with only 30 minutes to clear immigration I cant complain. On my first flight this morning I really wanted to sleep, having woken at 4am, bu the man next me waned to talk at me fro the duration. I learnt he was from Dundee and works in Aberdeen (quite a commute), but worst of all he told me his wife died at the beginning of June after being diagnosed with cancer three weeks earlier. What do you say? He has three children in their early twenties, but I reckon he was still in shock and had come back to work way too early. I have to admit I was quite relieved to discover, even though he was coming to Houston on the same flight, he was going to be sitting miles away from me. Instead, on the Houston flight, I got the guy who was sitting in the window seat of our row from Aberdeen! How bazaar. He did not talk at all so that was fine by me.

Misty was still at the car park and Stuart kindly reminded me to 'drive on the right' before I took off! The temperature & humidity is definitely up. The car said 102F, but it was probably warmer that.

The house was all fine, just as I left it. I am still battling with the air con to bring the temperature down enough so I can go to bed. I went straight into the pool for a swim and I would love to have a thermometer to tell you the temperature as it is decidedly bath-like. I just sat in the shade and was dry in 10 minutes because it is so hot.

You should see how many crispy, dead bugs there are in the house, including a large cockroach, which I photographed before sweeping up, but you will have to wait for the photo. I have inspected my bed for any uninvited guests!

I got provisions and have bought myself a nice piece of steak for tomorrows dinner - mmmm!

Battery now on half juice (I had problems connecting to the internet), so must save it just in case my bag doesn't arrive tomorrow!
