L is for Late Luggage

It looks like there is some bad weather coming Houston's way, however, it is only rain and thunderstorms that are currently in northern Texas and moving south. But the look ahead has thunderstorm all week! However, before all of that, they had today as a record high of 100F (I actually think yesterday was hotter!).

I slept extremely well, and surprisingly, I didn't want get up this morning - maybe something to do with a very busy two weeks holiday! Since Stu said he had gone cycling this morning I decided I should go as well. It was a cool, humid, 85F so perfect for a sweaty cycle. I consulted the road map to work out how I could get to the Bayou, avoiding all major roads. I had to cycle a 100m along Memorial Drive, but there is a pavement so it is not an issue. The bayou was full of other cyclists, runners and walkers - all equally sweaty in the heat! I didn't really go too far but I finished my bottle of water so I may have to add a water bottle holder to my bike. The best thing was that I jumped in the pool when I came back.

Laura came around this afternoon and made a great Caipirinha - a Brazilian drink made with cachaca, crushed lime, sugar and ice. We drank it while playing Laura's Dirty Dancing board game! I was rubbish, but Laura was amazing she knows the film far too well! We had a swim then aura had to rush off to a party, however she was late so jumped in the car in her bikini and towel. I got a phone call five minutes later saying she had left her clothes!

My suitcase finally appeared at about 6pm. I am unpacked and sort of ready for work tomorrow!
